Food Tapestry is about food, wine, travel, history, and design. It's about the art and science of food and wine. It's about culture and places to explore.  It has stories about interesting people and places.  
 

I have always loved talking to people to find out how they got to where they are. My passion for food started early - I was born just in time for dinner - and carried on to completing a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Food Science). Working in the food industry developing new products and getting them to market led me to pursuit of a Master’s in Business Administration degree and then into the corporate world, working in different industries and travelling internationally. Exposure to different cultures, customs and food expands your perspective, provides a glimpse into people and the diversity and richness of different ways of living.

 

In my quest for learning more about wine, I attended many wine tastings, I was president of a wine society for a few years and I have completed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Advanced studies in wine. I volunteer for the Vancouver International Wine Fest and continue with food and wine tastings. It is true that the more you learn about food and wine you realize the less you know, so of course more consumption is necessary to advance the knowledge.

 

Fast-forward to today. I decided to launch Food Tapestry to share my interests and explorations with others. It will continue to grow and evolve. There is no end of topics to explore. I hope you will join me on this journey of travel, cultural exploration and celebrating the art and science of food and wine.
